Alhaurin Golf Resort
If you fancy a round of golf in a more rural part of southern Spain, you mustn’t miss the chance to play at Alhaurin Golf Resort.
Designed by the late Seve Ballesteros, this picture-perfect golf course comprises five par-5s, eight par-4s and five par-3s and is situated in the mountains just above Fuengirola and mid-way between Malaga and Marbella. The resort is surrounded by typical Mediterranean forestry and boasts magnificent views over the Costa del Sol.
With friendly staff, a good quality course, complete with training area, an academy course, a spacious natural grass driving range, putting green and chipping green, one has to agree it’s a superb value-for-money venue. Continuous improvements have been made to ensure Alhaurin Golf blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. The trees and plants within the course are typical of the area with plenty of pine trees, Spanish oaks, cypress, orange trees, palms and olives plus a wide range of aromatic plants like thyme and rosemary.
Signature Hole: The signature hole is number six, a par-5 dogleg right with the most amazing tee positions and views overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The drop in height from the tees completely unique and leaves most players with two more shots to reach the green, well protected by bunkers but not difficult to putt. This is one of those holes every golfer must play.
Driving range, putting green, golf lessons, buggies, clubhouse and restaurant.
Handicap Limit: Men 28, ladies 36 – soft spikes only.
