Calanova Golf Club

Nestled between the glitzy town of Marbella and the Costa’s capital of fun, Fuengirola, lies the “Golf Valley of Mijas” and one of the region’s top golf courses, Calanova. It was designed by Aymerich Golf Management to reflect the natural geography of the land and offer some degree of risk which players of all handicaps will enjoy.

With postcard-worthy sea and the mountain views from most of the holes, the greens boast an average surface area of over 500 m2 and have been designed to provide a great experience for players of all levels and handicaps. The fairways are varied but wide in the landing areas with visible hazards. Raised tees provide a perfect view of the hole and a more spectacular ball flight.
Weekend golfers take note – there are no torturous holes, the sort that make you want to call it a day and head straight to the club house for a drink!

HANDY HINTS:

Signature Hole: Hole six, Par-3. From an elevated tee, you’ll see the green in a valley below with a small bunker at the front and a larger one to the left. Look out for the lake on your left – it might look pleasant but it’s quite a large hazard to avoid. The green slopes severely from back to front  and when the new trees spread their palms the hole is quite something – camera at the ready!

Facilities:

Buggies, clubhouse, driving range, putting green, golf academy, restaurant and pro shop.

Requirements

Handicap Limit: Men 28, ladies 36 – soft spikes only.
