Daniel Westermark qualifies for European Tour

The Costa Golf Guide and its affiliates would like to offer huge congratulations to Daniel Westermark for recently qualifying for the European Senior Tour 2013.

Daniel, the club professional at El Paraiso Golf Club since 2002, had to first make it through stage one of the qualifiers on 24th & 25th January at Silves Golf Club, part of the Pestana Golf Resort on the Algarve.

After securing a place in the final stage, Daniel then competed with over 70 players at Pestana’s Vale da Pinta course in the hope of bagging one of the 14 tour cards available. Despite tough competition, and following four nerve-wracking rounds, Daniel was thrilled to come away with card number 12: ‘What a great experience! I was actually surprised I did so well but am obviously over the moon with the result. The course was great and we had fantastic weather so I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I would like to thank my friends and family, and El Paraiso Golf Club for their continued support and, as always, my caddie Max Bosse. I can’t wait to get started on the tour!’.

Daniel may have the opportunity to play alongside some of European golf’s biggest names such as Ian Woosnam, Sandy Lyle and Sam Torrance, so it is exciting times ahead. We wish Daniel the best of luck for the future and can’t wait to see how he does in the summer.
